BLIND MASK

2022
8x5.5x.1/8"
3D Printed Resin, Electroplated Copper

This piece began as a 3D-rendered design before being 3D-printed in resin and electroplated with copper. The absence of eyes creates an unsettling tension; without openings to see or be seen, the mask protects and isolates. The scrollwork pattern on the surface references historical ornamentation, evoking a sense of grandeur and authority while reinforcing its function as a barrier.

By combining digital fabrication with traditional metalwork techniques, Blind Mask reflects my ongoing exploration of how materials and technology shape contemporary identity. The interplay between surface and structure, concealment and exposure, speaks to broader themes of control, surveillance, and self-representation in an era where our identities are increasingly mediated through constructed lenses.
